Terms and Conditions of Use

SalentoMe.com also accessible via the PugliaMe.com domain is a free digital guide to activities, events, restaurants, beaches and hidden gems in Salento and Puglia, Italy. The service is operated by GuardaMe. By accessing or using the site you accept these Terms in full.

1. Service operator

The SalentoMe.com site hereafter "the Site" is operated by GuardaMe. The PugliaMe.com domain is a technical redirect to the same Site; it is not a separate platform. The operator's full identification details (registered name, VAT number, registered office) are shown in the Contact section of the Site.

The service is editorial and discovery-oriented in nature. GuardaMe is not a travel agency, a real-estate agency, a booking platform or a financial intermediary, and does not own or directly operate any of the activities, places or events listed.

2. Free service for end users

Browsing, viewing listings, registering an account, using the "favourites" feature and reading the blog are and will remain free for end users. GuardaMe does not request or accept payments from users who consume the Site's content.

Any commercial relationships specifically the Advertiser and Contributor programs are governed by separate agreements expressly accepted at the time of enrolment and do not bind users who merely browse the content.

3. Content sources and accuracy

Published content comes from a combination of sources:

  • data from Google Places (addresses, public contact details);
  • curated posts from Instagram, Facebook and other official channels of municipalities, cultural associations and local operators;
  • editorial contributions written by the GuardaMe team;
  • descriptions and illustrations generated with the assistance of artificial-intelligence systems, always disclosed as such on the listings.

GuardaMe commits to updating information regularly but cannot guarantee its accuracy at all times. Opening hours, prices, availability, access conditions and accessibility may change. Before visiting a place or event, users are invited to verify information directly with the operator via the official contacts shown on the listing.

4. No intermediation

Any contractual relationship bookings, purchases, admissions, rentals or other transactions takes place exclusively between the user and the third-party operator of the listed activity, event or place. GuardaMe is not a party to those relationships, receives no compensation from them, and assumes no responsibility for their performance, quality, outcome or any disputes arising from them.

5. Sponsored content

Some listings may be promoted for a fee by the relevant operators under the Advertiser program. Sponsored listings receive:

  • preferred placement at the top of relevant result lists (by category or by city);
  • distinctive visual identification via the "Sponsored" label (or the equivalent in other languages) and graphic treatment that clearly distinguishes them from editorial content;
  • pricing on a flat or periodic basis, agreed in advance in the Advertiser agreement.

This identification complies with the transparent-advertising obligations of the Italian Consumer Code (art. 22), EU Regulation 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) and AGCM guidelines on the subject. The presence of an unsponsored listing among the results is the outcome of independent editorial selection: payment never determines either the inclusion or the placement of ordinary editorial content.

6. User accounts and personal data

Account registration is optional. If you choose to register, GuardaMe collects your name, email address and optionally preferred language and geographic location for result personalisation. Personal-data processing is described in detail in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. You can delete your account at any time from your profile or by contacting GuardaMe.

7. Intellectual property

Trademarks (including "SalentoMe" and "PugliaMe"), logos, visual identity, source code, Site structure, editorial articles, descriptions written or curated by GuardaMe and AI-generated illustrations are protected by Italian and European intellectual-property law.

Unauthorised use of protected content reproduction, redistribution, derivative works, mass scraping is prohibited. Short quotations accompanied by a link to the original page are permitted.

8. Third-party services and content

The Site integrates data and functionality provided by third-party platforms, each governed by its own contractual terms and privacy notice. By using the Site you acknowledge those relationships.

  • Google Maps Platform and Google Places - used to obtain addresses and public metadata for the listings. Content delivered through these services remains the property of Google and the respective rightholders; use is governed by the Google Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Platforms (Instagram, Facebook) - used for curating events and public posts from municipalities, associations and local operators. Original posts remain the property of their respective authors; display on SalentoMe occurs via links to the original post or previews compliant with the Meta Terms and the Instagram Terms of Use.
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager - used to measure Site usage in aggregate form. Processing methods, purposes and retention are described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

By interacting with these features you accept the terms of the respective platforms. GuardaMe does not control and is not responsible for unilateral changes that Google or Meta make to their services or terms.

  • reverse engineering, decompiling or tampering with the Site's code or any programming interfaces used;
  • use of the Site for unlawful, deceptive or third-party-rights-infringing purposes.

11. Limitations of liability

The Site is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, GuardaMe disclaims any express or implied warranty regarding service continuity, content accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. GuardaMe is not liable for damages - direct, indirect, incidental or consequential - arising from use of the Site or interaction with third-party operators listed or with the integrated third-party platforms, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection liabilities under applicable law.

12. Changes, governing law and jurisdiction

GuardaMe reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by notice on the Site and, for registered users, by email, with reasonable advance notice before they take effect.
